بدأ مصرف الراجحي، أحد أكبر المصارف الإسلامية في العالم، نشاطه عام 1957م. ويتمتع مصرف الراجحي بخبرة تمتد لأكثر من 50 عاماً في مجال الأعمال المصرفية والأنشطة التجارية.

وتم افتتاح أول فرع لمصرف للرجال في حي الديرة في الرياض عام 1957م، بينما افتتح أول فرع للسيدات عام 1979م في حي الشميسي.

وقد شهد العام 1978م، دمج مختلف المؤسسات التي تحمل أسم الراجحي تحت مظلة واحدة في شركة الراجحي المصرفية للتجارة وفي عام 1988 تم تحويل المصرف إلى شركة مساهمة سعودية عامة.

وبما أن المصرف يرتكز إلى مبادئ المصرفية الإسلامية بشكل أساسي، فهو يلعب دوراً رئيسياً وأساسياً في سد الفجوة بين متطلبات المصرفية الحديثة والقيم الجوهرية للشريعة الإسلامية مشكلاً معايير صناعية وتنموية يحتذى بها.

يتمتع مصرف الراجحي، ومقره الرياض بالمملكة العربية السعودية، بمركز مالي قوي وهو يدير أصولاً بقيمة 288 مليار ريال سعودي (76.8 مليار دولار أمريكي) كما في 31/03/2014، ويبلغ رأس ماله 16.25 مليار ريال سعودي (4.3 مليار دولار)، ويعمل فيه أكثر من 8,400 موظفاً.

With over 50 years of experience in banking and trading activities, the various individual establishments under the Al Rajhi name were merged into the umbrella 'Al Rajhi trading and exchange corporation' in 1978 and it was in 1988 that the bank was established as a Saudi share holding company.

The first men's branch was opened in Aldirah in 1957, with the first ladies branch being opened in AlShmaisi in 1979.
